The Free One
Let me tell you of a tale
Full of pain and regret
And a warning that we never should forget.
‘‘Twas a man heard a word
Lit a flame in his heart
Had a certainty
Thought never could depart
Heard the voice and raised the hand
Sought to follow the command
Yet the whisper of the damned
He ignored he ignored
So it festered in his soul
Against the lord.
Revelled he in his belief
No more pain no more grief
On a path of gentle mercies and relief
Raised a sword and fought the vile
Learned the word faced the trial
To the holy house new every inch and mile
That whisper now a cry
With every deed the question why
Still he never would deny
Simply fake and defy
Thought he never would deny
The blessed Lord.
Full of negligence and pride
Foul delusions survived
Turned away his soul
From battles held within
Now his heart would not turn
Words of truth he would spurn
His reality no man could ayre discern.
Now his soul it was devoured
Pure inclinations overpowered
The taste of truth it had soured
Bitter gourd bitter gourd
Gone the love and the fear of the Lord…
On a plain stands a man
All alone all alone
A man whose eyes bring light unto the world.
All the angels and the jinn
Heard the call heard the call
Yet feigning souls were deafened by their sins
Our man now on the plain
Heard the whisper of his name
All creation did proclaim
Tis Hussain tis Hussain
Then a darkness fell and silence surely reigned.
Every ear and every eye
Saw the face heard the cry
One such as me can never bow to him.
A risen heart a risen soul
One whose pure one whose whole
A victor against the satans , man and jinn
Oh the men stood on the plain
Would all their lives have been in vain?
Would betrayal be they’re fame
Only fire they would claim
A choice between Damnation
Or the Lord.
On the field a free one stood
In ruku and in sujood
With the truth of Allahs mercy
Understood
One whose journey brought him nigh
Felt the heat of the fire
How his soul turned to repentance
For his sin
The free one was set free
As he bowed his blessed knee
In the lap of sweet Hussain
His inheritance claim
His battle won gainst enemies within.
Nought but desolation now
A broken oath a broken vow
The very sun and moon was lost upon that hour
‘‘Twas the day of the divide
When every soul will be tried
Is your heart with the Waliya of Hussain
Those who once had heard the truth
Now had slain the holy proof
The curse of hell had called them in
All the Satans and jinn
A baron wasteland now that blessed Karbala
Oh the moral of the tale
Be on guard lest you fail
And hold unto the master and Wali
Crave the word in your heart
Never waver or depart
Never wander far from holy Ashura
No lesson can be learned from the ones whose souls are burned
Keep the words of the pure
The certain and the sure
Hold fast unto the people of the Lord
Hold fast unto the mercy of the Lord
Hold fast unto the justice of the Lord…
