Shaheed of Karbala,
The love of Fatima,
The light of Mustafa,
The saviour of Islam,
Husain is our imam,

The blazing fiery sun -the valiant would shun,
The plain of Karbala, deserted then we were,
The sand as dry as hell,
Where infant’s blood had fell,
Where holy limbs were torn
Where revolution born!

Shaheed of Karbala,
The love of Fatima,
The light of Mustafa,
The saviour of Islam,
Husain is our imam

The pipes and horns they blew,
The flags of hate they flew,
To stand against Islam was cursed Yazid’s plan,
Death would beckon all,
The sacred symbol’s fall,
The blood of beast’s was mixed,
The innocent transfixed on …

The light of Mustafa,
The saviour of Islam,
Husain is our imam

An innocent appeared,
The angel’s were afeared,
Within his father’s arms,
The babe was full of charms,
His nourishment was ceased,
The sorrowful increased,
The cry of earth ignored,
Kufr was then restored,

The love of Fatima,
The light of Mustafa,
The saviour of Islam,
Husain is our imam

Against Husain’s son,
The evil deed was done,
With human kindness left,
His mother was bereft,
The sands of time had flown,
Lamented tears and moans,
The fate of our Husain,
Was blood and tears and pain,

Shaheed of Karbala,
The love of Fatima,
The light of Mustafa,
The saviour of Islam,
Husain is our imam

Companions all had gone,
And Hope was all forlorn,
Silence it had fell,
Upon this worldly hell,
A single cry was heard,
‘Twas Husain’s final word,
No helper now has he,
No Muslim can be free,

Shaheed of Karbala,
The love of Fatima,
The light of Mustafa,
The saviour of Islam,
Husain is our imam

The 95 were killed,
The blood of martyrs spilled,
No friend of the Ahl ul bait,
Could alter Husain’s fate,
The wives and sisters saw,
The hate for Allah’s law,
The massacre of babes,
The Muslims became slaves,
Soon to be unveiled,
No woman was dismayed,
Belief in Allah’s grace,
Protected every face,

Shaheed of Karbala,
The love of Fatima,
The light of Mustafa,
The saviour of Islam,
Husain is our imam

And now the tears are shed,
The evil reel in dread,
Yet victory was assured,
And dignity restored
Now centuries have passed
The Muslims were oppressed,
Yet Husain came once more,
To settle Islam’s score,

Shaheed of Karbala,
The love of Fatima,
The light of Mustafa,
The saviour of Islam,
Husain is our imam

The spirit of Husain,
Created once again,
Removed the Muslim’s plight
And taught us how to fight,
Now jihad is everywhere,
The enemies despair,
No weapon now have they,
To bar us from our way,
The call of our Hussain,
Can never be in vain,
The answer came to be,
Through Imam Khomeini,
