So the dust now has settled
All they burned now is levelled
In their sin they have revelled
Broken hearts now assembled
Through the mist flags are flying
Upon the the wind gentle crying
Blinded eyes testifying
Deadened souls now reviving
Oh they call out your name
All alone on that plain
Never life will be the same
Now he’s gone Ya Hussain.
From his youth how he guided
Drew them close the ones divided
In his heart love abided
Midst his loved ones resided
Oh a world of pain and sorrows
He paved a path of sure tomorrows
Through isolation and horrors
To pure Islam the restorer
Oh they call out your name
All alone on their plain
Never life will be the same
Now he’s gone Ya Hussain.
Oh such a witness to murders
Holy loved ones were martyred
Only a remnant of defenders
Bore the flag of no surrender
A loyal band of believers
Stood by his side against deceivers
Gainst evil plots and lie weavers
Hypocrites and false teachers
Oh they call out your name
All alone on their plain
Never life will be the same
Now he’s gone Ya Hussain.
Mighty oaths they were sworn there
A righteous burden was bourne there
A holy voice raised in sweet prayer
A voice that eased all our despair
A tongue professing pure tabyeen
No innovation or false deen
Battle cry of our Hussain
Bore the dust and the blood stains
Oh they call out your name
All alone on their plain
Never life will be the same
Now he’s gone Ya Hussain.
Not a sound just desolation
A single man a whole nation
And yet a cry of liberation
For the oppressed in starvation
A banner raised by the lovers
By those in chains sisters and brothers
Though torn apart how they discovered
A deadly vow they uncovered.
If I should die and be scattered
And then restored and killed shattered
A thousand times then no matter
I stand by you at Karbala
Oh they call out your name
All alone on their plain
Never life will be the same
Now he’s gone Ya Hussain.
